Once an array of different liveries/ operators and vehicles, Stratford has now become rather mundane with only 3 main operators; East Thames Buses, First and Stagecoach using 'standardised' vehicles, the only recent exceptions being the (unsuitable) Mercedes Citaro Artics on route 25 and the superb Wright 'Merits' now appearing on the 108.

A good thing about this area is that there is still very little vandalism (especially window etching) to buses unlike across the water in South East London

Pictures taken at the new Walthamstow Central Bus Stn. I was very impressed with how nice the structure is, especially when you compare that with what they did to Victoria Bus Stn! There seems to be much more parking space for the buses and just more room in general around the bus station

On a lovely sunny Saturday, 24 July on the first day of the RM50 event a very large crowd assembled in Finsbury Park alongside the 40 or so Routemasters of various descriptions. What a great day but will we get it again in the future? I certainly hope so.

Sun, 13 June saw Arriva Medway Towns launch an impressive £10M investment in infrastructure and new (and older refurbished) buses in 'operation overdrive' at Gillingham garage. It is hoped that this will significantly boost already good ridership levels in the area. The launch consisted of a parade of the new buses through Medway and a photoshoot at Chatham Dockyard with dignitaries, the press and senior Arriva officials in attendance.

Sadly London Centrals Bexleyheath Garage does not seem to care for the outside or inside appearance of most of its buses as some of these pictures show. This is in stark contrast to other London Central/ General garages and some other operators (such as Stagecoach).

Photos taken of buses around Lewisham bus station on Thursday 8 April. Not a good day for the weather!

Pictures taken of various operators buses mainly in Chatham, Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells. Patronage seen on the Arriva Medway Towns network throughout the day is impressive and may well be Arriva's 'jewel in the crown' outside London. Also well done to them for their well turned out buses (which has always been the case since Maidstone & District days) :-)

Lakeside is a stark contrast to Bluewater when it comes to public transport and there were VERY FEW people waiting for buses whilst I was there (around lunchtime). Lakeside gives the feeling that people there are disillusioned with the buses, perhaps not helped by Arriva's lacklustre performance and cut-backs some time ago.
